Parent Testimonials

Thank you for your contact and for letting us know about this exciting time in GHES' history. We are so proud to be an alumni family -- you are welcome to use any of my statements from previous emails or surveys as testimony of the amazing work you all do for young children and families in our community. One of the main reasons we chose GHES was proximity to our home and we loved that we could bike/walk and pick up at the drop of a hat. But being in the community came to mean so much more -- everything from learning about who helps us and works in our community, to exploring the environment around us and learning all sorts of important things about the world through activity and exploration -- the playgrounds and facilities were top-notch and developmentally appropriate as well as nurturing and intellectually stimulating for young children. We also appreciated the emphasis on diversity and the ongoing opportunities for enrichment and learning through art, music, Spanish language, PE/creative movement, and on and on! And finally and most importantly, it was the dedicated and loving teachers and staff that supported our child and family to grow and develop and thrive. You all are always in our hearts. I hope that if I can provide other information, that you please call on me anytime!
With gratitude,

There is not a day that goes by that I am not grateful for Georgetown Hill! Our son was approaching his 2nd birthday and my husband and I felt it was the best time for him to get more socialization and help boost his speech since he was behind in that area. We asked our friends for recommendations and more than one friend gave us the name of Georgetown Hill. We looked at three different campuses (which were all wonderful), but finally settled on Woodley Gardens for the convenience of their location. My husband and I were extremely nervous because our son had been in the care of my mother up until then and was not always great with people he was not familiar with. On the very first day of school, we were able to put all of our fears and worries to rest. The Director, Melanie Morillo was a warm, friendly face as she had originally given me the tour and she went above and beyond to ease our nerves with a photo of our smiling son shortly after I had dropped him off. Ms. Allie and Ms. Benjie in the Two’s classroom were his teachers and they could not have been any more loving and caring to our son and to us! We felt our precious baby was in the next best hands and was being cared for with genuine love and affection. Since that day, our son has FLOURISHED in so many different aspects. I am always amazed with what he has learned! Now he is in the Three’s classroom with Ms. Fiorella and Ms. Sharon (who we also love dearly!) and truly enjoys every day he spends there. It’s not easy to be a working parent, but knowing that your baby is in the very best hands possible is an immense comfort. I’m so grateful that I can go to work and know that my son is learning new things every day and making friends and growing into the best little man he can be! Our second son will begin at Georgetown Hill this summer and our third son will attend in the future as well! I would recommend Georgetown Hill to any parent!

Our daughter started at Georgetown Hill Woodley Gardens at age 3--ten years ago now. We chose the GHES program because the facility looked great--it was spotless, sunny, and cozy. Even better were the teachers who seemed to truly adore children. What really sold us was when we asked about outdoor playtime and were told that they children were outside playing and exploring as much as possible--we knew it was the right fit for us. Two years after our daughter began, our son joined the preschool ranks. We enjoyed another three years of wonderful school traditions: Thanksgiving lunch, trunk-or-treating, Vehicle Day, and more. After starting kindergarten, both children attended GHES school-age summer camps for years - coming home with tales of amazing field trips and in-house performers, new friends, fun cooking projects, and lots of swimming and outdoor fun. Most recently, our 7th grader has performed service learning hours back at the place we all still feel is "home" - the Georgetown Hill preschool program. Ten years from when she first entered the door, a toddler in a princess dress, she returned as a teenager to a building full of people who remember her, welcome her, and provide the best role models possible for how to nurture a child from toddlerhood through the teen years. Thank you, Georgetown Hill teachers and staff, for so many wonderful memories!

Celebrating over a quarter century of service to the community!
