Darnestown Staff

All of our lead teachers have college degrees, and all our staff receive yearly continuing education and First Aid and CPR training. Keep reading below to learn more about each of our teachers.

Laurie Chesnut (Ms. Laurie):

Ms. Laurie was born in Northern New Jersey and lives with her husband in Gaithersburg, MD and has two children in college. Ms. Laurie has been teaching at Georgetown Hill Early School since 2005 and has been teaching young children for over thirty years. She has a BA from the University of Vermont and a Masters in Early Education from Wheelock College. 

Rosedel Wolk (Mrs. Wolk):

Mrs. Wolk lives with her husband in Gaithersburg, MD. She attended college in the Phillipines. She has been teaching at Georgetown Hill since 2004 and has been teaching young children for over ten years.

Anne Ostrenga (Mrs. O):

Mrs. O lives with her husband and two sons in Gaithersburg, MD. She has a BSN in Nursing and a graduate degree in public health. She has been teaching at Georgetown Hill Early School since 2003 and has over 15 years of experience teaching young children.

Marie Samuelson (Ms. Marie):

Ms. Marie lives in Germantown, MD with her husband and son and has one son in college. She has a BA from the University of Maryland. She has been teaching at Georgetown Hill Early School since 2004 and has over seventeen years of experience teaching young children.

Jane Cheremeteff (Mrs. C):

Mrs. C lives with her husband and two daughters in  Bethesda, MD. She has a BA from Williams College. She has been teaching at Georgetown Hill Early School since 2004 and has over eleven years of experience teaching young children. 

Claudia Arbelo (Ms. Claudia):

Ms. Claudia was born in Argentina and now lives with her family in Rockville, MD.  She has been teaching at Georgetown Hill Early School since 2000 and has experience with teaching young children for over fifteen years.  Both of Claudia’s daughters are graduates of Georgetown Hill.  She has her degree from Argentina and is currently working to complete her BA in Early Childhood Education.  On the weekend, she teaches at the Argentina School of Washington.

Megan Jackowski (Ms. Megan):

Ms. Megan was born in Pennsylvania and now lives her family in Germantown, MD.  She has a BA in Psychology from Bloomsburg University.  She has been teaching at Georgetown Hill Early School for since 2003 and has over sixteen years of experience teaching young children.  Ms. Megan daughter will be a Georgetown Hill student in the 2011-2012 school year.

Sunanda Jain (Ms. Jain):

Ms. Jain moved her from India in 1996. She lives with her family in Germantown, MD. Ms. Jain has been teaching at Georgetown Hill Early School since 1999 at both our Bells Mill and Darnestown campuses and has over twenty-five years of experience teaching young children.

Kristen Raymond (Ms. Kristen):

Ms. Kristen was born in Maryland and now lives with her family in Darnestown, MD. She has her degree in Elementary Education from Towson State University. She was a Montgomery County School teacher for eight years. She has been at Georgetown Hill Early School since 2009 and has over twenty years of experience teaching young children. Both of her children are recent graduates of Georgetown Hill.
