Georgetown Hill's Woodley Gardens
Campus
Childhood is a unique and valuable stage in the life cycle. Our paramount
responsibility is to provide safe, healthy, nurturing and responsive settings
for children. We are committed to supporting children's development, respecting
individual differences, helping children learn to live and work cooperatively,
and promoting health, self- awareness, competence, self-worth and resiliency.
Georgetown Hill stresses the importance of connecting children's school
life with their greater community by engaging them in meaningful experiences
that connect them to their larger world. Information gained becomes a take-off
point for extended learning. A multicultural orientation encourages children
to broaden their knowledge while awakening their imagination and sensitivity.
The PLAN curriculum is premised on an environment that is non-hurried,
noncompetitive, appropriately structured, carefully designed, purposeful
and challenging, open to evaluation and change, creative and inviting,
and responsive to the needs and nature of childhood. |
