Josefina Mellinger (Ms. Josie)

Ms. Josie in Rockville, MD. Ms. Josie has been in the field for a number of years, working with infants through four year olds. Ms. Josie’s has been with Georgetown Hill since 2006.  She has a bachelor of arts with a major in sociology. Her Loving and nurturing approach make her a great asset to our infant room as well as our Woodley Gardens Campus.

Ida Rowan (Ms. Ida):

Ms. Ida was born in South Africa and now resides in Silver Spring, MD, with her husband, and their cat. She is the proud mother of two sons. Ida has CDA and has completed the 90 course in early childhood education. Before coming to Georgetown Hill in 2007, Ms. Ida ran a home daycare in South Africa.

Carolina Fernandez (Ms. Carolina):

Ms. Carolina ives in Frederick, MD with her husband, her two daughters and her Mother. Ms. Carolina has both a CDA and the 90 early Childhood Certificate and has been with Georgetown Hill since 2003. Carolina enjoys singing and dancing, so much so, that she makes music and movement a regular part of her classroom daily activities.

Kristin Gomez (Ms. Kristin):

Ms. Kristin lives in Germantown, MD with her Husband one year old daughter, Chihuahua (Iggy), and three cats. Ms. Kristin has BS in Early Childhood Education from Towson University. She has been with Georgetown Hill since 2000 and has worked at multiple campuses, as both a teacher of two through five year olds, as well as a director.

Benjie Mutia (Ms. Benjie):

Ms. Benjie lives in Rockville, MD.  She has a BS in Business Administration. Ms. Benjie has been with Georgetown Hill since 1999 working with two through five year olds. We lovingly call her the “Mother Duck” of Woodley Gardens. She takes care of not only the children, but all of the staff.

Melanie Halperin (Ms. Melanie):

Ms. Melanie lives in Rockville, MD. She received a Bachelors of Arts from West Virginia University. Ms. Melanie has been teaching threes at Georgetown Hill since 2002, and is the summer camp director of our Woodley Gardens campus. Ms. Melanie loves to paint and you will notice much of her work around the campus.

Kathy Green (Ms. Kathy):

Ms. Kathy lives in Clarksburg, MD with her husband and sassy little dog (Rosie).  Ms. Kathy has worked at both the Darnestown and Woodley Gardens campuses since 2005.  She had spent a number of years in the field as nanny and a teacher before coming to Georgetown Hill.  Ms. Kathy is currently working on her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.

Marisa Gauma (Ms. Marisa):

Ms. Marisa was born in Argentina. Ms. Marisa lives in Rockville with her husband.  Marisa has a bachelors degree in Journalism, but her passion is working with children.  She has been teaching at the Argentinean School since 1996 and has been with Georgetown Hill since 2000. Ms. Marisa loves to sing and dance (especially Spanish songs) with the children.

Michael Gouker (Mr. Mike):

Mr. Mike lives in Rockville, MD.  Mr. Mike is currently a student at Rockville High School and has taken Child Development this year past school year.  Mike has been part of the Georgetown Hill family since 2008, first as a volunteer and now as a teacher aide.

Kristin Cromwell (Ms. Kristen):

Ms. Kirsten lives in the Woodley Gardens neighborhood with her husband, two boys and two dogs. Kristen literally grew up at Georgetown Hill and has been working with the School since 1990 as both a teacher and director, for a number of our campuses. She knows Georgetown Hill as a former student, teacher, director and parent.  Ms. Kristen has a BA from Bucknell, a MPA from George Washington University and a MA in Early Childhood Education from Towson.
